Running a business in Gloucester means dealing with the full weight of paperwork, deadlines and tax, all while trying to get on with the work that actually pays the bills. That's where we come in.
I'm Anita Rasheva, founder of AD Accounting, based just down the road in Bishop's Cleeve. We work with small businesses and limited companies across Gloucester, and we know this part of the world: the mix of independent traders, contractors and growing commercial operations that make up the local economy. Gloucester has seen some fantastic investment in recent years, from the Food Dock and the Quays through to The Forum and the wider regeneration around the city centre. Being based nearby means we know the area properly, rather than being a faceless firm miles away with only a rough idea of where you are.
So if you'd rather sit down over a coffee than email back and forth with a helpdesk, that's exactly the kind of working relationship we offer.
We handle the full picture of day-to-day and year-end accounting, so you don't have to piece it together yourself.
That means keeping your books accurate and up to date, managing your VAT returns and making sure you're compliant with HMRC. We prepare year-end accounts whether you're a sole trader or a limited company, and handle your self-assessment or corporation tax so nothing gets missed. And if cash flow is something you're trying to get a grip on, or you'd like to plan ahead with a proper budget rather than hoping the numbers work out, we can help with that too.
The point isn't just to tick the compliance boxes. It's to give you a clear picture of where your business actually stands, so you can make better decisions.
There are plenty of firms to choose from, so here is what makes working with us different:
Genuinely local: we know Gloucester and the businesses that run here, and we're easy to meet in person.
Plain English: we explain things clearly, without making you feel you should have asked a simpler question.
Small-business focus: we specialise in sole traders and limited companies, not faceless corporates.
Award-winning: MAAT-qualified, with a 2024 Global Recognition Award for client-centred solutions.
When something changes in your business and you need quick advice, you're not waiting in a queue or being passed around an office phone system. You deal with us directly.

"Anita is a super helpful and professional lady who really knows her stuff! She has a very pragmatic and grounded approach to accounting and explains everything very clearly - which has made her easy to trust!"
The free consultation lasts up to 30 minutes and can be held via Zoom, phone, or in person, whichever is most convenient for you. We'll talk through your business, your current accounting and tax situation, any challenges you're facing, and how I may be able to help. It's also a great chance for you to ask any questions and see whether we're the right fit to work together.
My pricing depends on the service you require and the level of support your business needs. Where possible, I offer fixed monthly packages, so you know exactly what to expect each month with no hidden costs. For one-off services, such as company formations, tax returns, or accounts preparation, I provide a fixed fee agreed in advance. If a project falls outside the agreed scope, I'll always discuss the cost with you before carrying out any additional work.
Yes, and it's more straightforward than most people expect. I handle the process for you, including contacting your current accountant and requesting the information I need. You won't have any awkward conversations to manage, and there's no gap in your accounts. Most clients are surprised by how simple it is.
Whichever suits you. I'm based nearby in Bishop's Cleeve, so meeting in person in Gloucester is easy to arrange. If you'd prefer to handle everything by Zoom, phone and email, that works just as well, and many of my clients rarely need to meet in person at all.
It depends on your business structure and the service you need. Typically I'll ask for some basic details about your business, such as your Company Registration Number or UTR, along with access to your accounting software (if applicable), your recent financial records, and any relevant documents. During our first consultation I'll explain exactly what I need, so you won't have to worry about gathering unnecessary paperwork.
Very likely. I work with sole traders, limited companies and small businesses across Gloucester and the surrounding area, across a wide range of trades. Every business is different, which is exactly why I offer a free consultation, so I can give you advice tailored to your situation rather than something generic.
Book a free consultation and talk through what you need. No jargon, no obligation,
just a straightforward conversation about your business.
